THE IMPORTANCE OF COGNITIVE HEALTH
The population is living longer than ever, but cognitive health is often lost in the discussion around physical health. Conditions like dementia are on the increase, but many healthcare practitioners do not attempt to measure brain health.
That’s why Be Mobile Neurology is working with Cambridge Brain Sciences to offer a new assessment of cognitive performance to our patients. With the CBS Health cognitive assessment, we can measure and track your brain health over time, ensuring your plan of care is as effective as possible. Only a few medical practices in the Tampa/Sarasota region are offering this service, and Be Mobile Neurology is proud to introduce it to you!
Why Measure Cognition?
“If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it,” goes an old business saying, and it applies to health, too. We all have a subjective idea of how our brains are doing—some days we feel “off” or have “brain fog,” while other days we feel like we can take on the world. But how much better are we on the good days? And are lifestyle or health changes making a difference?
That’s where cognitive assessment comes in. By putting a number to these subjective feelings, we can discover what is causing the good days in order to have more of them.
Improved cognitive performance has important effects on your everyday life. Whether you’re remembering where you parked your car, learning a new task at work, or trying to figure out your taxes, your brain health affects nearly every aspect of your life.
CBS Health: An Engaging and Scientifically-Validated Cognitive Assessment Platform
Through a quick, fun series of tasks on the CBS Health assessment, we will objectively measure, monitor, and manage core areas of cognition to ensure that your plan of care is on the right track. It’s not a test—it’s a quick check-up on how you’re doing today, like a blood pressure cuff for your brain.
The CBS Health tasks have been validated by decades of scientific research and are proven to measure the most important aspects of cognition. Performance is directly linked with the areas of your brain that are required for each cognitive domain. But more importantly, the tasks are fun, and only take a few minutes to complete. You can experience it for yourself in this quick demo.
Cloud-based and secure, the assessment will be delivered to your email so you can complete the tasks at your pace. The assessment meets or exceeds HIPAA industry standards, ensuring the privacy and safety of your information. Once your assessment is complete, Dr. Deborah Bolandwill generate an easy-to-read report to share the results with you.
Research shows that a one-size-fits-all approach to medicine is not as effective as a personalized approach, and this is one more way that Be Mobile Neurology delivers individualized care. By tracking cognitive performance data before and after treatment, your plan of care will be more effective and your quality of life enhanced!
